Soft Tissue Therapies

Paired with chiropractic adjustments, specific and purposeful soft tissue work helps your tissues become more malleable as we re-train your body into new movement patterns and allow your nervous system to begin regulating efficiently.

KT tape, kinesiotaping, RockTape for an ankle sprain in san jose.

Techniques Used:

  • This technique uses a metal tool to mobilize and manipulate soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, and fascia. By doing this we can break up scar tissue, adhesions, decrease muscle tension, decrease pain, improve mobility, and increase blood flow. When done very lightly over the skin it helps reduce inflammation by facilitating lymph drainage.

  • Silicone or plastic cups are placed on the skin creating a suction effect. This separates the layers of tissue bringing blood flow to the region and improving mobility. This helps with pain, scar tissue, mobility limitations, tight muscles, and more.

  • This is a form of deep stretching for extra tight muscles and post surgical or injury rehabilitation. Using a combination of stretching with muscle contraction we can substantially improve range of motion and muscle tension.

  • This technique is used to address soft tissue dysfunction such as muscle tightness, trigger points, and adhesions, with the goal of improving flexibility, reducing pain, and enhancing overall tissue health. This is a passive technique where I place pressure on the muscle and then stretch it.

  • This technique is used for very sensitive muscles, acute injuries, and inflammation to help gently gain mobility and move inflammation, assisting in healing.

  • As seen on many athletes these days! This tape is helpful for many different purposes. It helps provide minor support for the joint, separates the layers of tissue to allow blood flow, tricks the brain into thinking about the tape rather than pain, and helps you recruit the correct muscles. I’m certified in RockTape application and can show you how to do it at home.
